WTF Auction of the Week - Raspberry Coke Edition

This week's WTF auction is very WTF indeed! May I present to you, one of what I would say is the most overpriced 600ml bottles of soft drink known to man, the first bottle of raspberry coke in the world! Go Trademe for attracting so many weird auctions!

With any of these WTF auctions, the best part is always the stacks of completely retarded questions that hopeless n00bs seem to ask. Here's some of my favourites...

wont this bottle go flat in a couple of years.... how can plastic hold its carbonation? it will be all squishy and worthless?????????? posted by: orie (311 ) 3:37 pm, Fri 13 May

The bottles are collectors items. While they may be drunk, it is expected that the purchaser will retain them in the plastic display case in which they come. This means they will always be verified as authentic and will be able to be re-sold if the purchaser desires. The winning bidder will also recieve a bottle of each variety for the specific purpose of tasting.

My son wants to know why they stopped making cherry coke? He loved it! posted by: tower (68 ) 5:35 pm, Fri 13 May

Questions like this are best directed at Coca-Cola's free phone line 0800 COCA COLA.

A lot of my mates have also been asking for a Vegimite Coke flavor. Any chance of bringing this out in the near future. I would be keen to put bids on this to get a first bottle off the line! posted by: donalstuart (715 ) 8:28 pm, Fri 13 May

I'll put your suggestion forward!

Hi, I'm a bit confused because on the new zealand coca cola website the have a competition for you and 3 mates to be the first people to try the drink but i thought this auction was for that privelige? posted by: mafu1 (52 ) 10:50 am, Sat 14 May

The competition is for these winners to be "one" of the first people to try Coca-Cola Raspberry. They will try it ten days before it goes on sale to the public. If the winning bidder is located in New Zealand, they will recieve the drinks before the winners of this competition making them the first consumer in the world to try the product.

Why do you not answer all your questions? The man selling the ciggarette butt did, and he had pages of them. Just curious :), Vicki. posted by: v_kendall (102 ) 9:09 pm, Sat 14 May

These questions are being answered during working hours only, hence the delay over the weekend :) of course we will endeavour to answer all questions.

wow it must be annoying when you get alot of Q's from people who are slow and dont know how to read ! anyway cant wait for the new flavour ! its about time ,i know the nz public have been asking for this for years !hopefully it becomes a classic ,cheers!!! :> posted by: holdenss (214 ) 1:06 pm, Mon 16 May

Thank you for your kind words!

(And now for my favourite of all...)

Will the winning bid determine the retail price?? If so, how do you expect people to put $3000+ into a vending machine? Sorry, but that's a crazy price and noone will pay it. Especially poor students (me). What's going on at the marketing dept at coke? posted by: shoutwebdaniel (236 ) 12:26 pm, Mon 16 May
